The goal of the Communications, Literature 和 Foreign Languages Department is to improve the critical thinking, 阅读, 写作, 和 speaking skills of our 学生. We want to prepare you for a technologically advanced 和 multicultural world.

Moraine Valley offers 阿拉伯语 I 和 II in face-to-face classes as well as
阿拉伯语 I, II, III 和 IV online.

We offer 阿拉伯语 language placement testing for ARB-102 和 201 classes.

Moraine Valley has two programs in 美国手语:
Deaf Studies - 28 credit hours
The ASL Deaf Studies Certificate is designed to develop skills in 美国手语 to provide
学生 with a strong foundation to enter professions that provide services to the Deaf, DeafBlind, 和
重听人士社区. Certificate completion will also provide a path to entry into the American
Sign Language Interpretation Program which has selective enrollment.
ASL Certificate - 43 credit hours
This program serves 学生 who are pursuing employment working with the deaf 和 deafblind community 和/or entering the 美国手语 Interpreting field. 具体地说, this certificate will benefit 学生 who are interested in learning 美国手语 to communicate with family, 朋友, 的同事们, 社区成员, 和/or working with the deaf/deafblind/hard-of-hearing community as an interpreter in a wide variety of settings. As a two-year certificate program, this program may also benefit 学生 who are interested in transferring to a four-year institution to complete a bachelor's degree in sign language interpretation, 聋的研究, 或者聋人教育.
